Dumbbell strength
Get stronger · Dumbbells · 30–40 minFive big moves, loaded properly. Strength grows fastest with heavier weights — around 6 reps that feel like work, with plenty of rest.
How to do it
2–3 sets of 5–8 reps with a weight that's heavy but leaves 2 reps in reserve. Rest 2–3 minutes. Big lifts first, while you're fresh.
The exercises
1
Goblet squats
2–3 × 5–8
Go heavier than feels polite — chest proud, heels down.
2
Romanian deadlift
2–3 × 6–8
The heaviest lift of the day. Flat back, always.
3
Floor press
2–3 × 6–8
Elbows about 45° from your body; press with intent.
4
One-arm rows
2–3 × 6–8 per arm
Heavy enough that the last rep needs real focus.
5
Overhead press
2–3 × 5–8
Squeeze your glutes so your back stays honest.
6
Suitcase carry
2 × 20 m
Heaviest dumbbell you can hold with tall posture.
Good to know
Adjustable dumbbells shine here — add a small jump whenever all sets hit the top of the range. Slow, steady, unstoppable.
